ASU Newport - Workforce Training Solutions

This 49-hour hybrid course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to operate in an automated manufacturing environment. The course is delivered online with integrated in-person labs. The online content is directed, but self-paced.  The labs are scheduled weekly with instructor directing hands on activities. Students can attend the labs as they complete the modules. Students will have up to 8 weeks to complete the labs, but may finish in 4 weeks.

Course content will include Quality Control and Inspection; Lean manufacturing – inventory, workflow, and distribution; Machine Controls – Robotics, CNC, HMI; Operator Equipment Maintenance – preventative maintenance, electrical basics, fluid power concepts, and mechanical maintenance lubrication.

Manufacturing Essentials is a prerequisite for this course.  

*College credit can be awarded after a successful application has been made to the college.

This course is one of the 3 programs required to complete the Manufacturing Technician Program.
