Arkansas State University Newport’s Manufacturing Technician Program was designed with local manufacturing industry in mind and prepares students for high paying careers in food production, steel production, and equipment manufacturing.

Program Highlights: This 90-hour hybrid training program features a combination of online learning, hands-on labs, and in-person instruction. 

Students who successfully complete the program are ready to enter the workforce immediately with skills and competencies for high paying positions within manufacturing.

Program meets every Tuesday and Thursday for 8 weeks.

Comprised of three separate training programs.

Operator Essentials - Learn the skills to operate and monitor production equipment and processes

  • Manufacturing Processes Lab

Manufacturing Essentials - Aquire core competencies for manufacturing roles 

Career Essentials - Develop skills for success in any career

Students will complete 45 hours of in-person labs and instruction, then 45 hours of online virtual learning. Program modules are scheduled monthly.

Credit can be awarded for prior work experience and demonstrated competency.

Admission Requirements: To be considered for the program, students must be 16 and participate in program orientation.

Cost: Free

 

Credentials Awarded:

  • Earn up to 12 hours of college credit
  • 3 Badges
  • 1 Certificate of Completion
