Local demand for production welders continues to grow. Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the manufacturing welding workforce. Items covered in this module will include shop safety, tool use, material handling, set up and operation of GMAW equipment, flat weld positions, and welding of carbon steel using the GMAW short circuit process. The 46 hours of class time are conducted in a weld lab area which involves hands-on experience ranging from the setup of MIG welding equipment, welding fundamentals and the demonstration of proper use of materials. While training is a significant investment of your time, upgrading your skills and knowledge provides a pathway to higher income and job stability.
